A Cozy Bedroom with TJMaxx

Whew! We have been busy! One day we’ll get to updating the blog with some finished projects (why is this always the hardest part?) but for now, let’s dream up a cozy bedroom on a budget, shall we?

Whenever I’m watching TV, I almost always happen to be combing the interweb for the latest design deals—isn’t that what everyone does? My last web browsing brought me to my beloved TJMaxx, where one items lead to another and eventually, I’d created a whole room full of affordable pieces. I thought I’d share in case you too were needing a room refresh or perhaps just wanted to bring in a few new pieces.

Because the pieces are timeless and simple, they would work in a little girl’s room, a tween’s room or even a cozy master bedroom. All of the layers and texture evoke a sense of peace and calm no matter in which room they land.

-The quilt is a simple design that can be used even if you switch out pillows in the future ($49.99 for a queen).
-The ruffled euros are a great deal for $50 for the set.
-I love the depth and luxurious look of this rug—another piece that could work in many spaces down the road.
-Add in some soft color with these high quality Lillian August velvet pillows (also a set of 2).
-Layer the long 38” printed lumbar in front of the velvet for some added interest.
-Baskets are a clean room’s best friend. It’s always nice to have a basket to store (or hide) unsightly items for a quick and easy clean up.
-Cozy blankets are a yearly staple at our house— the perfect comfort for an afternoon nap or snuggling up with a good book. This chunky weave is a great option.

Which items would you add to your cart first?

Friday Feature- A Dinosaur Bedroom

Sometimes we come across items that we can quickly see a room design centered around. That’s what happened when we say this dinosaur lamp!

Here’s a few pieces to quickly (and inexpensively) update your dino-lovers bedroom.

This fun dinosaur lamp caught our eye because it’s playful without being too loud (a thing often hard to find with children’s dinosaur items). The geometric body adds another layer of dimension to the space and the wooden tones really pop on the blue side table. This one with a drawer is great for keeping all of the knickknacks and collections safely tucked away when not in use.

The blue geometric pillow (use a down/feather insert for the best shape and durability) pops on the white quilt that can be used with theme changes years down the road. We always love layering a throw at the end of the bed, and this one is perfect to bring in a little more texture and interest to the space. It makes a great nap blanket or story time snuggle buddy too.

Kids come with a lot of stuff—trophies, books, art (frame it with a mat to make it pop), random collections…so might as well display them well! This bookcase is a great landing spot to get things off the floor and wood/metal finishes give an extra layer to the room without overwhelming it. We hope you love it too!
