A new metal on the design scene

A growing trend right now is copper. Every where you look this season, retailers are offering items in this beautiful finish. Even Target has quite a lineup of copper goods in their kitchen and dining section. Here is quick pic I snapped on my trip there this weekend. Their copper barware was on sale!

Copper accessories can be found in polished orange/pinky hues to a more matte bronze hue. Regardless, they can bring warmth and sophistication to any room.

Consider incorporating some copper accessories in your home to change up the look for fall. Here are a few of my favorites. The mirrored copper trays are killer!

Mallory's Summer Favorites

Summer has officially begun, and it has me pulling out my old favorites and enjoying some new finds!

Cookouts, pool parties and endless hours of daylight are what the doctor ordered, and I'm so thankful to have sandy shores right in my backyard (or close to it!).  Now that the season is in full swing, I thought I'd share with you a few of my summer favorites:

Summer Essentials.jpg

1. Bib Necklace- This ivory beauty makes a statement with any outfit.

2. St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse- My go-to for getting a summer glow without all of the harmful rays.

3. Margaret Elizabeth Teardrop Bangle- Wear it alone or stack with your favorites, this bangle reminds me of a cool dip in the pool.

4. Straw Hat- A pool or beach must-have!...and less than $15!

5. Metallic Print Glassware, set of 4- These gold gals will make any dinner party a little more glamorous and fun.

6. Black Espadrilles- A staple great for casual wear or a summer night out on the town.

7. Skinnygirl Sangria- Check your local stores.  Sangria is the essential drink of summer, and this one is already mixed and ready to enjoy.  Toss in some fruit (for presentation) and you are set!

8. Parker Pom Pom Shorts- Pom poms and a fun print.  Need I say more? Freebird Collection knows how to do it right.  These are on their way to my house as we speak!

9. Summertime book- Curated by photographer Joanne Dugan, it's a "photography book about the essence of summer."  AKA happiness on pages.

10. Red Stripe Party Straws- These cheerful, vintage-inspired straws make any drink a little more fun.

11. Driftwood Bar Cart- For a party on wheels that can withstand the elements.

12. Bell Jar Drink Dispenser- You can serve your summer soiree drinks in style with this elegant dispenser.

Happy 4th of July from the 3A crew!  Have a fun and safe weekend!

A Rug Affair with West Elm

If you haven't stopped by West Elm or westelm.com to check out their sale, you're missing out!  They have a bunch of deals, but some that really caught my eye were on the rugs!  Oh how I love a good rug...especially one on sale.  Here's a few of my favorites:

This little pink beauty would be awesome in an office, little girl's room or playroom.  And that's coming from a girl who is not a big fan of pink.  I typically shy away from bright colors in rugs due to the price and longevity I'd like to achieve when purchasing one, BUT I don't think you can go wrong here, especially in a fun, inspiring room.  Who needs a room designed around this rug? I'm dying to use it in a space!

This one too would look great in a kid's space or even a living room (especially a beach condo). Dhurries are great for wear and tear and typically can look brand new with a quick vacuum!  And they are much softer than most natural optional like sisal and jute.

Key Wool Dhurrie in Iron- 8x10 $299

Key Wool Dhurrie in Iron- 8x10 $299

This one is a combination of two of my design favorites--black/white color combination and classic greek key pattern.  And the price tag makes it even prettier!

This is another classic but with a twist.  The offset print adds interest and the stripes bring in a little sophistication.  I'm tempted to buy this one for my own house!

Those are my top four rug sale picks.  Be sure to check out their website to see all of the other deals they have going on.  Get ready for the urge to empty your wallets too! :)

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!  This will be my last spent in my 20's!  Ahhh!

Company Spotlight: Land of Nod Gift Guide

With Christmas right around the corner, many parents are already hunting down the perfect gifts for their children.  While toy choices are certainly not limited these days, I think that some options far outweigh others.  In a time when digital toys are the all of the rage, it's nice to see products that offer function, fun and durability.  And when the toys can add a little design to your child's space, that doesn't hurt either.

Land of Nod has captured this corner of the market quite well if you ask me.  They offer toys that serve a purpose for both child and parent while clinging to the idea that imagination should still be the at the forefront of childhood wonder.  When both purpose and play meet, you have a wonderful holiday gift.

Below are a few of my favorite Land of Nod gift offerings for children this Christmas.  Enjoy!

1. What child doesn't love to bake up an amazing dish?  The pieces in this adult-like Eenie, Meenie, Miney, Mini Cooking Set ($24.95) will help them do just that!

2.   This Little Piggy Rocker ($129) puts the standard rocking horse to shame with its spunky design that will make a statement in any child's room.

3. This Rainbow Stacker ($49) has a vintage feel and sturdy wooden construction that will last for generations to come.

4. Who wouldn't want to play grocery store with a real looking Metal Shopping Cart ($69) ?

5. A Tee Pee to Call Your Own ($159, also available in stripes) is a great way to give your child a year-round fort that will conjure up hours of imagination and play.

6. If a tee pee isn't your thing, maybe a Home Sweet Play Home Canopy is.  This item offers up just as much fun while sacrificing less square footage.

7. Oliver Elephant by Wee Wonderfuls ($24.95) doesn't necessarily offer much in the form of function, but he is incredibly cute and a welcomed and unique departure from the mass-produced stuffed animals of today.

8. Some of my fondest memories from childhood involve sleepovers and slumber parties.  This Candy Bow Stripe Sleeping Bag ($89) will help make those memories even sweeter...and it can be monogrammed with your child's name.

9. While I do have a soft spot for dachshunds, this wooden Dog Pull Toy ($69), would be a great for any little one...and his tail wags as you pull him!  What could be cuter?

10. Last but not least, what little girl could have Christmas without a doll?  The Knit Crowd Dolls ($29 each) make great companions for any little girl.  And since they come in different styles, you can find one to best suit your little one's taste.

Happy shopping!
